Quality Street was launched in 1936 by Halifax confectioner Mackintosh's . 'The Major' and 'Miss', two figures inspired by the play's principal characters, appeared on all Quality Street boxes and tins until 2000.
The brand was acquired by Nestlé when they bought Rowntree's in 1988.
I still remember the old tins of the chocolate , where you can buy it as vintage tins in many web sites , and i still remember the taste of their delicious chocolate flavor especially the purple one which we fight over who will get them all .
